Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small values stored by a browser that can be sent with requests to a website. Local storage is another browser facility that keeps values for a particular website but does not automatically attach them to network requests. Both can be relevant to privacy and electronic communications rules.
This site uses local storage to remember the choice made in its cookie banner. The record is called poppetlystshpnt-cookie-choice. It contains an acceptance, rejection or essential-only preference. It does not contain your name, email address, message, browsing history or a unique visitor identifier.
Storage categories
The table distinguishes the essential preference record from optional categories. Accepting all and rejecting non-essential storage produce different preference values, but they do not change which services are loaded on this website.
| Category | Use on this site | Duration and control |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | First-party local storage, named poppetlystshpnt-cookie-choice, remembers your banner selection. | Persists until replaced, deleted by you or cleared by the browser. It has no automatic expiry in the site script. |
| Analytics | This website does not set analytics cookies or send audience events to an analytics service. | No analytics record is created by your banner selection. |
| Functional | The navigation and contact-form validation operate without optional preference cookies. Form entries are not saved to local storage. | No functional cookie or persistent form record is created. |
Using the banner
“Accept All” records acceptance and closes the banner. “Reject Non-Essential” records rejection and closes it. “Preferences” opens a panel within the banner showing the essential storage purpose. Its save button records an essential-only choice. Essential preference storage is used only to remember this decision.
You can reopen the panel using “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page. Saving a new choice replaces the previous record for that browser and website origin. A choice does not automatically transfer to another browser, device, private browsing session or a differently addressed copy of the site.
If storage is blocked, the buttons can close the banner for the page you are viewing, but the choice may not persist when you move to another page. Reading the guides does not depend on accepting optional storage.
Browser opt-out and deletion
You can remove the preference record through your browser’s settings for site data or storage. Deleting cookies alone may leave local storage intact, so use the option that removes all stored data for this domain where available. The banner will appear again after its record has been removed.
Browsers also offer controls to block cookies, restrict site storage or use private browsing. The exact wording differs between browsers. Consult the browser’s own help for site-data controls. Blocking storage does not prevent the network processing needed to request a webpage, such as transmission of an IP address.
Other services and future changes
Links to external reference websites do not embed those services in our pages. If you follow a link, the destination’s own cookie policy applies. Opening an email draft also involves your chosen email application and its separate settings.
If optional services are introduced, their purposes and controls must be explained before any consent-dependent storage begins. An earlier acceptance is not a blanket permission for unrelated new purposes. This policy and the preference panel should be updated to reflect any such change.
